The 3M 1401158 is a full-body comfort vest retrieval safety harness designed for workers at height across construction, industrial, and general trade applications. Built with 6,000 lb. rated polyester webbing and nylon/polyester hybrid comfort padding, the harness provides structural integrity alongside extended wear comfort. Robust alloy steel hardware throughout the assembly supports reliable load performance. An anti-slide dorsal D-ring plate reduces D-ring migration during use, and an integrated SRL adapter allows fast connection and disconnection of personal self-retracting lanyards. Suspension trauma relief straps with a low-profile design are included. This is a Large size configuration in the retrieval-capable vest style.
The 1401158 is suited for residential and commercial construction, tower work, industrial maintenance, and any application requiring OSHA-compliant personal fall arrest with retrieval capability. The vest-style design accommodates a wide range of body types and work environments. It is intended for use by fall protection trained workers and is installed and inspected by competent persons as defined under applicable fall protection standards. Compatible personal SRLs attach directly via the integrated dorsal adapter without additional hardware.
Designed as a retrieval-capable full-body safety harness for use with compatible personal self-retracting lanyards that connect to the integrated dorsal SRL adapter. Specific SRL and accessory compatibility should be verified against the manufacturer documentation for this harness model.
Donning and adjustment must be performed by the wearer following the manufacturer fit instructions prior to each use. A competent person must inspect the harness before each use and remove it from service if any webbing, hardware, or stitching shows signs of damage or wear. Power-down and lockout/tagout procedures appropriate to the work environment must be followed before beginning elevated work. Harness systems are governed by OSHA 29 CFR 1926.502 for construction and ANSI/ASSP Z359 standards — consult the applicable standard for inspection intervals and retirement criteria.
