The 3M 1246525 is a DBI-Sala ShockWave Arc Flash Stretch Web shock-absorbing lanyard designed for fall protection in demanding work environments. It features a stretchable webbing construction that expands to 6 feet when taut and automatically retracts to approximately 4.5 feet when slack, reducing trip hazards, snagging, and dragging during active movement. When subjected to a fall event, the internal shock-absorbing core deploys to limit fall arrest forces to safe levels. Lightweight and purpose-built for trade and industrial use, this lanyard is suited for electricians, ironworkers, utility workers, and other professionals working at height.
This lanyard is intended for use in a wide range of industries where workers are exposed to elevated fall hazards. The stretch-web design provides freedom of movement on elevated work platforms, scaffolding, aerial lifts, and structural steel. The arc flash-rated construction makes it appropriate for electrical work environments where arc flash hazards are present. It is sold as a single unit and is intended to be used as part of a complete personal fall arrest system including a full-body harness and appropriate anchorage connector.
Designed for use as a component in a compliant personal fall arrest system. Must be connected to a full-body harness and a rated anchorage point meeting applicable OSHA and ANSI Z359 requirements. Consult system component ratings before combining with other fall protection hardware.
Installation and inspection of fall protection equipment should be performed by a competent person as defined by OSHA 29 CFR 1926.32. Prior to each use, inspect the lanyard webbing, stitching, snap hooks, and shock pack for signs of wear, damage, or prior deployment. A shock-absorbing lanyard that has arrested a fall must be removed from service immediately and replaced. Follow applicable OSHA fall protection standards and ANSI Z359 series requirements for proper anchorage selection and system configuration.
