The 3M 1161522 is a vest-style full-body climbing harness designed for workers operating at height in construction, industrial maintenance, and tower climbing applications. Built around a fixed D-ring configuration, it features both back and front D-rings to support a range of fall-arrest and positioning lanyard connections. The harness uses a tongue-buckle leg connection and a pass-through chest connection for a secure, repeatable fit. Rated to a weight capacity of 420 lbs., it is sized for X-Large users and is finished in black. Licensed HVAC, electrical, and construction tradespeople who work at elevation rely on this style of harness for daily use.
This harness is suited for residential and commercial jobsites where fall protection compliance is required. Typical applications include rooftop HVAC equipment service, electrical panel and utility work at elevation, scaffolding, and structural climbing. The vest-style design distributes load across the torso and shoulders, making it practical for extended wear during service calls or extended work-at-height tasks. It ships as a single unit.
Direct replacement for 3M Protecta part number 1191273. Designed as an OEM-style replacement vest-style climbing harness within the 3M Protecta fall-protection product line.
Donning and inspection should be performed by a competent person in accordance with OSHA 29 CFR 1926.502 and the manufacturer instructions included with the harness. Before each use, inspect all webbing, hardware, and D-rings for wear, corrosion, cuts, or chemical damage. Harnesses that have arrested a fall must be removed from service immediately and not reused. Ensure all buckles are fully seated and webbing is free of twists prior to connecting to an anchorage system.
