What is the iWave-R?
The iWave-R is a needle point bi-polar ionizer manufactured by Nu-Calgon that actively treats indoor air. The iWave-R is capable of killing mold, bacteria, and viruses as well as reducing allergens, smoke, odors, and static electricity in the living space. This particular model is designed specifically for residential duct systems up to 6 tons (2400 CFM), and it's universal magnetic mount allows for easy, quick installation inside or outside the duct, inside the air handler, or between the air filter and cooling coil. Due to it's self-cleaning programmable cleaning cycle, this product also requires no maintenance!
How does an ionizer work?
The iWave-R uses needle point bi-polar ionization technology to release positive and negative ions into the air supply. These ions then actively purify the air supply, inactivating mold, bacteria, and viruses without creating any harmful byproducts. Also, since this is not a negative-only ionizer, this product does not create the "black walls" effect (the darkening of surrounding furniture and walls).
What other types of ionizers are available?
In addition to the iWave-R, we also carry the iWave-C and the iWave-M.
The iWave-C is a self, cleaning bi-polar ionizer for commercial applications rated up to 12 tons (4800 CFM) while the iWave-M is a flexible ion-generating bar for use in ductless and portable systems.
