The clip grips the rope at a fixed point, allowing the free end to be looped back and clamped without the need for swaging or specialized tooling. Built for a 7/8-inch rope diameter, this clip is rated for use in rigging, lifting, and load-securing applications where a reliable mechanical termination is required. A minimum of 4 clips per connection is the standard requirement for this rope size. Installation is performed by rigging personnel or maintenance trades following applicable ASME and OSHA rigging guidelines.

This clip is suited for use in industrial, construction, marine, and general maintenance environments where wire rope dead-end terminations are formed in the field. It is commonly applied on guy wires, load lines, slings, and safety cables that use 7/8-inch wire rope. The galvanized finish provides corrosion resistance for outdoor and moderately wet environments. The malleable iron body offers a balance of strength and ductility appropriate for static and low-cycle load applications.

Key Features

Fits 7/8-inch wire rope diameter for secure dead-end clamping

Malleable iron construction provides strength with controlled ductility

Galvanized finish resists corrosion in outdoor and industrial environments

Minimum of 4 clips required per termination for this rope size

Sold individually — allows procurement of exact quantities needed

Compatibility

Designed as a standard dead-end termination clip for 7/8-inch wire rope assemblies used in rigging, lifting, and load-securing applications.

Installation Notes

Installation should be performed by a qualified rigger or maintenance tradesperson familiar with wire rope termination procedures. Follow ASME B30.26 and applicable OSHA rigging standards for proper clip spacing, torque sequence, and minimum clip count — a minimum of 4 clips is required for 7/8-inch rope. Always apply clips with the U-bolt saddle bearing on the dead or short end of the rope and the saddle on the live or standing end. Inspect and re-torque all clips after initial load application.

Technical Specifications

Rope Diameter: 7/8 inches

Material: Malleable Iron

Finish: Galvanized

Minimum Number of Clips per Termination: 4

Weight: 22.4 pounds

Package Quantity: 1

Standard Information

Brand: VALUE COLLECTION

Manufacturer Part Number: 20955
