Product Description
The Square D B2.40 is a magnetic starter thermal unit designed for motor protection. It protects motors, controllers, and branch-circuit conductors from excessive heating due to prolonged over-currents. The thermal unit operates by tripping in twenty seconds or less during overloads. A unique one-piece construction allows the motor current to pass through a heater winding inside the unit. Under overload, this heat causes a solder to melt, disengaging a ratchet wheel that opens control circuit contacts and motor contacts. The unit has a rated AIC of 10,000 Amps per UL512 standards. This product is UL listed and CSA certified.
