Part of the Romac 202NS series, this saddle features a ductile iron clamp body with a 10 to 12 mil fusion bonded nylon coating for corrosion resistance, paired with a nitrile butadiene rubber (NBR) gasket that seals against pipe ODs ranging from 2.38 to 2.5 inches. The 1 in FNPT outlet accepts standard threaded fittings, and the saddle is secured with 1/2 in UNC 304 stainless steel bolts. Plumbers and waterworks contractors install this fitting on pressurized pipelines to add service connections without full pipe replacement.

This saddle is suited for residential and light commercial water service taps, irrigation laterals, and municipal distribution applications where a reliable, pressure-rated branch connection is needed on a 2 in nominal pipe. The double strap design distributes clamping load evenly around the pipe, making it appropriate for installations where vibration or pressure fluctuation is present. The domestically manufactured construction meets the demands of field service work on both new installations and existing pipeline retrofits.

Key Features

Rated to 350 psi for pressurized water line tapping applications

Ductile iron clamp body with 10 to 12 mil fusion bonded nylon coating for corrosion protection

Nitrile butadiene rubber gasket provides a reliable seal on pipe ODs from 2.38 to 2.5 inches

1 in FNPT outlet for direct connection to standard threaded pipe or fittings

304 stainless steel 1/2 in UNC bolts resist corrosion in wet or buried environments

Domestic manufacture - made in the US

Compatibility

Designed for use on 2 in nominal pipe with an outside diameter of 2.38 to 2.5 inches. Depressurize and isolate the line before installing where service conditions permit, or follow wet-tap procedures with appropriate equipment if a live tap is required. Torque both saddle bolts evenly to ensure uniform gasket compression and a leak-free seal. Verify that local codes and applicable standards (such as AWWA or IPC) are met before restoring pressure to the line.

Technical Specifications

Series: 202NS

Type: Double Strap

Nominal Size: 2 inches

Connection Type: 1 in FNPT

Hole Diameter (OD Range): 2.38 to 2.5 inches

Pressure Rating: 350 psi

Clamp Material: Ductile Iron

Gasket Material: Nitrile Butadiene Rubber

Bolt Material: 304 Stainless Steel

Bolt Size: 1/2 in UNC

Finish: 10 to 12 mil Fusion Bonded Nylon Coated

Color: Black

Dimensions: 4.88 inches L x 4.7 inches W

Country of Origin: US

Standard Information

Brand: ROMAC

Manufacturer Part Number: 286-025042
