Manufactured from rigid PVC, this fitting accepts a slip connection, meaning the pipe inserts directly into the socket and is solvent-welded in place. Schedule 80 wall thickness gives this cap higher pressure tolerance compared to Schedule 40 fittings, making it appropriate for industrial, chemical, and demanding plumbing applications. Plumbers and pipefitters install this cap to close off the end of a live or capped line, blank off unused branch connections, or cap lines during pressure testing. It weighs 0.76 pounds and is sold individually.

This end cap is suited for residential and commercial plumbing, irrigation systems, chemical transfer lines, and industrial process piping where PVC is an approved material. The slip connection style requires solvent cement and primer for a permanent, leak-tight joint. It is commonly used when closing off 2.5-inch PVC pipe branches, capping unused ports on manifolds, or temporarily or permanently sealing pipe ends during system commissioning or maintenance.

Key Features

Schedule 80 wall thickness for higher pressure ratings versus Schedule 40

Slip end connection accepts standard 2.5-inch PVC pipe for solvent-welded installation

Rigid PVC construction resists corrosion, scale, and many common chemicals

Lightweight at 0.76 pounds for easy handling in confined spaces

Sold as a single unit with no minimum order beyond one piece

Compatibility

Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard fitting for 2.5-inch Schedule 80 PVC slip-joint piping systems.

Installation Notes

Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or qualified pipefitters following applicable IPC and local plumbing code requirements. Shut off and depressurize the line completely before cutting or capping any pipe end. Clean and deburr the pipe end, apply PVC primer, then apply solvent cement to both the pipe and the fitting socket before joining. Allow full cure time per the cement manufacturer instructions before restoring system pressure.

Technical Specifications

Fitting Type: End Cap

Fitting Size: 2.5 inches

Material: PVC

Schedule: 80

End Connection: Slip

Weight: 0.76 pounds

Standard Information

Brand: PRO-SOURCE

Manufacturer Part Number: 90380200609

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0270/4519/9983/files/957c5eb026bc79ec636d573b19e97519_4fdf9619-0fba-480e-a4ba-9db09ab69a5b.jpg?v=1788865647
