Once mounted in the pool, it enters alarm-ready mode automatically and cannot be deactivated during normal operation - making it a passive, always-on safety device. The unit detects water disturbances consistent with a child entering the pool and sounds an 85-decibel horn at 10 feet. It operates on a single 9-volt battery with approximately one year of battery life and communicates with an included in-house remote receiver with a range of up to 200 feet. Licensed pool service professionals and safety inspectors are the primary installers of this device.

The PGRM-2 is intended for residential in-ground pools up to 20 by 40 feet or 800 square feet in area. Its sensing technology is calibrated to reduce false alarms caused by wind, rain, or small surface objects. The included remote receiver plugs into a standard 12-volt power supply and provides an indoor audible alert when the poolside unit triggers. A low-battery indicator sounds at the poolside unit and is simultaneously indicated on the remote receiver, ensuring battery status is never missed.

Key Features

Always-on alarm-ready mode - cannot be deactivated while installed in the pool

Tamper-proof design sounds an alarm if the unit is removed from the pool without authorization

Sleep mode allows safe, deliberate pool use - alarm resumes automatically when reinstalled

Automatic wake-up and self-test run each time the unit is placed back into the pool

85-decibel audible horn at 10 feet with in-house remote receiver range up to 200 feet

NSF Certified to ASTM Standard F2208 and manufactured in the USA

3-year warranty included

Compatibility

Designed for use in in-ground pools up to 20 by 40 feet or 800 square feet. Before servicing or repositioning the unit, place it into sleep mode to prevent an unintended alarm. The remote receiver requires a 12-volt power supply and should be positioned within the 200-foot range of the poolside unit. Always verify battery condition at commissioning and replace the 9-volt battery as indicated by the low-battery alert.

Technical Specifications

Alarm Sound Level: 85 decibels at 10 feet

Remote Receiver Range: Up to 200 feet

Power Source (Poolside Unit): 9-volt battery (not included)

Battery Life: Approximately 1 year

Remote Receiver Power Supply: 12 volts

Maximum Pool Coverage: 800 square feet (20 by 40 feet)

Certification: NSF Certified to ASTM Standard F2208

Country of Origin: USA

Warranty: 3 years

Dimensions: 14.49 inches x 4.02 inches x 12.76 inches

Weight: 5 pounds

Material: Plastic

Standard Information

Brand: POOLGUARD

Manufacturer Part Number: PGRM-2
