The sweep features a mill finish aluminum insert measuring 42 inches in length and stands 1.75 inches high. The triple vinyl seal configuration provides redundant coverage across uneven thresholds or floors. This type of product is typically installed by commercial door hardware specialists, general contractors, or facility maintenance technicians.

The 57AV42 is suited for use on commercial and residential interior and exterior doors where continuous bottom sealing is required. Common applications include entry doors, corridor doors, and utility access doors in buildings where climate control, pest exclusion, or acoustic separation is a priority. The 42-inch length accommodates standard door widths and can be field-cut to fit narrower openings. The mill finish aluminum construction handles routine traffic and moderate environmental exposure without significant corrosion risk.

Key Features

Triple vinyl seal design provides layered protection against drafts, dust, insects, and sound

Mill finish aluminum insert offers durable, corrosion-resistant construction

42-inch length fits standard door widths and is field-cuttable for narrower applications

1.75-inch height accommodates typical door-bottom gaps without significant door clearance loss

Surface-mount installation attaches to door face with standard fasteners

Compatibility

Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation door bottom sweep for standard commercial and residential door bottoms requiring a triple seal, surface-mounted aluminum sweep in a 42-inch length.

Installation Notes

Installation is performed by door hardware technicians or general contractors using basic hand tools including a drill, screwdriver, and hacksaw or tin snips for field cutting. The door should be removed from its hinges or held stationary before marking fastener locations to ensure straight alignment across the full door width. Verify that the vinyl seals make uniform contact with the threshold or floor surface without binding the door swing. Follow applicable building codes and door fire-rating requirements when installing sweeps on rated assemblies, as some fire-rated doors have restrictions on aftermarket bottom seals.

Technical Specifications

Overall Length: 42 inches

Height: 1.75 inches

Bristle Length: 0.875 inches

Insert Material: Aluminum

Finish: Mill Finish

Seal Type: Triple Vinyl

Package Quantity: 1

Standard Information

Brand: PEMKO

Manufacturer Part Number: 57AV42
