Built on an X-weight cloth backing, it delivers the flexibility and durability needed for demanding grinding and finishing applications. The disc measures 10 inches in diameter and cuts with 100-grit aluminum oxide abrasive, placing it in the fine grade range for controlled stock removal and surface preparation. No vacuum holes are included, making it a straightforward drop-in for PSA-style backup pads. Licensed trades and industrial finishing technicians use this disc on stationary disc sanders and portable equipment for metal, wood, and composite work.

This disc is suited for general-purpose grinding and finishing in both shop and field environments. The aluminum oxide grain is well matched to ferrous and non-ferrous metals, hardwoods, and engineered materials. The PSA adhesive backing allows fast mounting and removal on compatible backup pads without clamps or fasteners. The X-weight cloth substrate resists tearing under lateral load, making it a reliable choice for production sanding where disc life and consistent cut rate matter. It is part of the NORTON R228 series.

Key Features

10-inch diameter PSA disc for use on standard PSA backup pads

100-grit aluminum oxide abrasive for fine-grade stock removal and surface finishing

X-weight cloth backing provides flexibility and tear resistance under load

No vacuum holes for a clean adhesive surface and full abrasive contact

Brown disc color; part of the NORTON R228 abrasive series

Sold individually — one disc per package

Compatibility

Designed as an OEM-style PSA abrasive disc for use with 10-inch PSA backup pads on stationary disc sanders and portable finishing equipment that accept pressure-sensitive adhesive discs.

Installation Notes

Installation is performed by trades professionals or skilled technicians familiar with abrasive equipment.
