This filter is constructed from electrostatically charged synthetic material that captures airborne particulates while the carbon layer addresses odors. MERV 10 performance means capture of more than 85% of particles between 3 and 10 microns, including lint, household dust, pollen, pet dander, mold spores, and baking flour. Sold as a 12-pack, this filter is designed for licensed HVAC technicians and knowledgeable DIYers servicing residential or light-commercial forced-air systems.

This filter fits custom-sized air handler and furnace return-air grille openings that do not correspond to standard nominal dimensions. The custom fabrication process uses cut-down or combined filter frames, which may include reinforced tape construction on the frame perimeter. Nordic Pure builds these with a reinforced 2-part frame intended to support balanced airflow and consistent performance throughout the filter service life. Recommended replacement interval is every 30 to 90 days depending on indoor air quality conditions, occupancy, and the presence of pets or allergens.

Key Features

MERV 10 electrostatic pleated media captures more than 85% of particles between 3 and 10 microns

Activated carbon layer reduces common household odors alongside particulate filtration

Custom nominal size 8x16x1 inches with actual dimensions of 7.5 x 15.5 x 0.75 inches for precise fit

Reinforced 2-part frame construction provides structural stability and supports consistent airflow

Made in the USA

Sold as a 12-pack for extended supply on a single order

Compatibility

Custom-fabricated replacement filter designed for residential and light-commercial forced-air HVAC systems requiring a nominal 8x16x1 inch filter slot. Verify the actual opening dimensions with a tape measure before ordering; this custom size is not eligible for returns.

Installation Notes

Installation is performed by licensed HVAC technicians or qualified DIYers. Always set the system thermostat to the off position and shut down power to the air handler or furnace at the disconnect before removing the existing filter. Confirm airflow direction marked on the filter frame matches the direction of supply air into the unit. Because actual filter dimensions are slightly undersized relative to the nominal label, verify the filter seats without gaps greater than 1/8 inch on any side.

Technical Specifications

Filter Type: MERV 10 Pleated Plus Carbon

MERV Rating: 10

Nominal Size: 8 x 16 x 1 inches

Actual Size: 7.5 x 15.5 x 0.75 inches

Quantity per Box: 12

Weight: 7.5 pounds

Box Dimensions: 21 x 16 x 11 inches

Country of Origin: USA

UPC: 848224112761

Standard Information

Brand: NORDIC PURE

Manufacturer Part Number: 8x16x1CustomM10+C-12

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0270/4519/9983/files/8ced635fc0afa43707b355ed7d1cc9b3_c2c2a7d2-6e04-4ea6-a676-47de1626938e.jpg?v=1789962895
