Constructed from electrostatically charged synthetic media with an added carbon layer, it captures a broad range of airborne particulates while also targeting odors. The filter holds a MERV 13 rating, meaning it captures over 90% of particles between 1 and 10 microns, and 50% to 70% of particles between 0.3 and 1 microns. It ships as a six-pack in an exact 8 x 14 x 0.75 inch actual size. Licensed HVAC technicians and experienced DIYers install this filter in forced-air systems where standard nominal sizes do not fit the filter slot.

This filter is intended for forced-air HVAC applications where a non-standard slot size requires a custom-cut solution. The 8 x 14 x 1 nominal size corresponds to an actual dimension of 8 x 14 x 0.75 inches, which is manufactured by cutting or combining standard filter frames. Depending on the custom size, the frame may incorporate tape joins for structural integrity. Because this is a custom-made product, it is non-returnable, so the installer should measure the existing filter slot carefully before ordering. It is well suited for residential environments with allergy concerns, pet dander, smoke, or odor issues that require higher filtration performance than standard MERV 8 filters provide.

Key Features

MERV 13 rating captures over 90% of airborne particles from 1 to 10 microns, including pollen, mold spores, dust, pet dander, smoke, bacteria, and virus carriers

Carbon layer provides additional odor reduction beyond standard MERV 13 media

Electrostatically charged synthetic media enhances particle attraction without significantly increasing static pressure drop

Reinforced 2-part frame design provides added structural durability for consistent airflow over the filter life

Custom exact-cut to 8 x 14 x 0.75 inch actual dimensions to fit non-standard filter slots

Made in the USA; ships as a 6-pack

Compatibility

Designed as a custom exact-size replacement filter for residential or light commercial forced-air furnace and AC systems with a filter slot requiring an 8 x 14 x 1 nominal size. Verify actual slot dimensions before ordering; custom sizes are not eligible for returns.

Installation Notes

HVAC technicians or qualified DIYers should power down the furnace or air handler at the disconnect or thermostat before replacing the filter. Confirm airflow direction markings on the filter frame align with the direction of airflow in the unit before seating the filter. Nordic Pure recommends changing this filter every 30 to 90 days depending on indoor air quality conditions and system runtime. Because this is a custom-cut product, measure the existing filter slot to its actual dimensions rather than relying on the nominal size printed on the old filter.

Technical Specifications

Filter Type: MERV 13 Plus Carbon

Nominal Size: 8 x 14 x 1 inches

Actual Size: 8 x 14 x 0.75 inches

MERV Rating: 13

Quantity Per Box: 6

Package Weight: 3 pounds

Box Dimensions: 15 x 15 x 7 inches

Country of Origin: USA

Standard Information

Brand: NORDIC PURE

Manufacturer Part Number: 8x14x1ExactCustomM13+C-6

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0270/4519/9983/files/0b4260f71d995777c5733963f396df69_4f106385-9dd7-42a2-8f47-86faa41315a8.jpg?v=1789990823
