Built to exact dimensions of 27.5 x 35.5 x 0.75 inches actual size, this filter combines a MERV 13 filtration layer with an activated carbon layer to capture fine airborne particles and reduce common household odors. It ships in a six-pack and is installed by HVAC technicians or knowledgeable homeowners as a drop-in replacement in furnace and air handler filter slots. The reinforced two-part frame supports consistent airflow and structural integrity over the full service life of the filter.

This filter is suited for forced-air furnace and central air conditioning systems where the filter slot requires a non-standard nominal size of 28 x 36 x 1 inches. Because it is custom-fabricated to the listed actual dimensions, it is appropriate for installations where standard stocked sizes do not fit. The carbon layer makes it well suited for environments with elevated odor concerns such as pet dander, smoke, or cooking odors. HVAC professionals servicing residential systems with non-standard filter cavities will find this a direct solution without field modification.

Key Features

MERV 13 filtration captures over 90% of airborne particles between 1 and 10 microns and 50% to 70% of particles between 0.3 and 1 microns, including dust, pollen, mold spores, smoke, bacteria, and viruses

Activated carbon layer reduces common airborne odors including pet, smoke, and household odors

Custom-fabricated to exact nominal dimensions of 28 x 36 x 1 inches with an actual size of 27.5 x 35.5 x 0.75 inches

Reinforced two-part frame construction provides added durability and maintains filter shape under normal system static pressure

Pleated media design balances high particle capture efficiency with low airflow resistance

Made in the USA

Compatibility

Designed as a custom OEM-style replacement filter for forced-air furnace and central air conditioning systems requiring a nominal 28 x 36 x 1 inch filter. Verify the actual filter cavity dimensions before ordering, as this is a non-returnable custom size.

Installation Notes

Installation is performed by a licensed HVAC technician or qualified service professional. Power down the furnace or air handler at the disconnect or thermostat before removing the existing filter. Confirm airflow direction arrow on the filter frame aligns with system airflow toward the blower. Nordic Pure recommends replacing 1-inch filters every 30 to 90 days depending on environmental conditions. Because this is a custom size, measure the existing filter cavity to the nearest 1/8 inch before ordering to confirm fit.

Technical Specifications

Filter Type: MERV 13 Plus Carbon

Nominal Size: 28 x 36 x 1 inches

Actual Size: 27.5 x 35.5 x 0.75 inches

MERV Rating: 13

Quantity per Box: 6

Weight: 7 pounds

Country of Origin: USA

Standard Information

Brand: NORDIC PURE

Manufacturer Part Number: 28x36x1CustomM13+C-6

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0270/4519/9983/files/0b4260f71d995777c5733963f396df69_8ae365cf-02c3-4818-9dca-45ec8cd82d73.jpg?v=1789963959
