It is designed to capture airborne particulates and neutralize odors in residential and light commercial HVAC systems. The filter media is a non-woven polyester base infused with naturally derived charcoal, which targets Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs), pet odors, smoke, and cooking smells. The pleated construction delivers three times the carbon media surface area compared to standard flat carbon filters while maintaining low resistance to airflow. Licensed HVAC technicians and knowledgeable DIYers install this filter in forced-air furnace and air handler applications.

This filter fits nominal 20x25x4 filter slots. The actual size is 19.5 x 24.5 x 3.625 inches, which is shallower than the nominal depth - this is important to verify before ordering. It is suited for residential use in homes and apartments as a stand-alone odor-reduction filter, and it can serve as a pre-filter stage in higher-efficiency commercial HVAC units where odor control is a priority. Nordic Pure notes that if your existing unit requires a 4.375-inch-depth filter, a different model should be selected instead.

Key Features

MERV 8 efficiency captures pollen, pet dander, dust mites, and other common airborne particulates

Charcoal-infused media absorbs VOCs, pet odors, smoke, cooking smells, and bathroom odors

Pleated design provides three times the carbon media surface area of flat carbon filters

Heavy-duty moisture-resistant beverage board frame with metal mesh support grid bonded to pleats

Media will not support mold growth

Made in the USA

Compatibility

Designed for forced-air furnaces and air handlers with a nominal 20x25x4 filter slot. Confirm airflow direction arrows on the filter frame match the direction of airflow in your system before inserting. Nordic Pure recommends replacing this filter every 3 to 6 months for maximum odor control and efficiency. Dispose of the used filter promptly, as saturated carbon media can release captured odors if left in place.

Technical Specifications

Filter Type: Pure Carbon Pleated

MERV Rating: 8

Nominal Size: 20 x 25 x 4 inches

Actual Size: 19.5 x 24.5 x 3.625 inches

Quantity per Box: 6

Frame Material: Moisture-resistant beverage board with metal mesh support grid

Filter Media: Non-woven polyester infused with naturally derived charcoal

Weight: 15 pounds (box)

Country of Origin: USA

Standard Information

Brand: NORDIC PURE

Manufacturer Part Number: 20x25x4PCP-6
