It combines electrostatically charged synthetic filter media with an activated carbon layer to capture airborne particulates and reduce common household odors in a single pass. The filter measures 17.5 x 35.5 x 0.75 inches actual size and ships in a 6-pack. HVAC technicians and homeowners working with non-standard filter openings rely on custom sizes like this to achieve a proper fit where standard off-the-shelf sizes will not seat correctly.

This filter is suited for forced-air heating and cooling systems, including gas furnaces, heat pumps, and central air handlers, where the filter slot requires an 18x36x1 nominal opening. The custom construction uses cut-down or combined filter frames, which may incorporate reinforcing tape depending on the final dimensions. Nordic Pure recommends changing the filter every 30 to 90 days depending on indoor air quality conditions, occupancy, and the presence of pets or allergy triggers. The 6-pack format supports a full replacement cycle without repeated ordering.

Key Features

MERV 8 rating captures 70 to 85 percent of airborne particles between 3 and 10 microns, including lint, dust, pollen, pet dander, mold spores, and baking flour

Activated carbon layer helps reduce common household odors passing through the filter media

Electrostatically charged synthetic media attracts and holds particulates without significantly restricting airflow

Reinforced 2-part frame provides structural durability for custom-cut filter sizes

Actual size 17.5 x 35.5 x 0.75 inches fits nominal 18x36x1 filter openings

Made in the USA

Compatibility

Custom-made to fit nominal 18x36x1 filter slots in residential and light commercial forced-air HVAC systems. Custom sizes are non-returnable.

Installation Notes

Power down or set the thermostat to off before removing the existing filter to prevent unfiltered air from circulating through the air handler. Confirm airflow direction arrows on the filter frame align with system airflow before seating. Custom filter frames may use reinforcing tape at seams and should be handled carefully during installation to maintain frame integrity. Replace every 30 to 90 days or sooner in high-dust or high-occupancy environments.

Technical Specifications

Filter Type: MERV 8 Plus Carbon

Nominal Size: 18x36x1 inches

Actual Size: 17.5 x 35.5 x 0.75 inches

MERV Rating: 8

Quantity per Box: 6

Weight: 7 pounds

Country of Origin: USA

Standard Information

Brand: NORDIC PURE

Manufacturer Part Number: 18x36x1CustomM8+C-6

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0270/4519/9983/files/6ddac352816a885602759fc7a6c0d24c_ddd41481-9f78-4c7e-b2dc-63ac6ffd1f67.jpg?v=1790076261
