It is made from electrostatically charged synthetic filter media designed to capture a broad range of airborne particulates, including lint, dust, pollen, pet dander, mold spores, smoke, bacteria, and viruses. The MERV 13 rating means the filter captures over 90% of particles between 1 and 10 microns and 50% to 70% of particles between 0.3 and 1 micron. The added carbon layer addresses odors. Licensed HVAC technicians and knowledgeable DIYers install these filters in residential and light-commercial forced-air systems.

This filter is sized for HVAC systems requiring a non-standard 17x21x1 opening. The nominal size is 17x21x1 and the actual size is 17 x 21 x 0.75 inches, which is standard practice for air filter sizing. These custom-made filters are cut to exact dimensions to fit openings where standard manufactured sizes do not work. They are appropriate for residential gas furnaces, heat pumps, and central air conditioning systems that use a 1-inch filter slot. Filters should be replaced every 30 to 90 days depending on indoor air quality conditions and system load.

Key Features

MERV 13 rating captures over 90% of airborne particles between 1 and 10 microns, including pollen, pet dander, mold spores, smoke, and bacteria

Activated carbon layer reduces common household odors passing through the air stream

Electrostatically charged synthetic media attracts and holds fine particulates without excessive airflow restriction

Reinforced 2-part frame construction provides structural durability in the filter slot over the full service life

Custom-cut to exact nominal dimensions for non-standard filter openings

Made in the USA

Compatibility

Designed for residential and light-commercial forced-air HVAC systems requiring a custom 17x21x1 nominal filter size. Always shut down the air handler or furnace at the disconnect or thermostat before removing or installing the filter. Confirm the actual opening dimensions with a tape measure before ordering custom sizes, as custom filters are non-returnable. Install with the airflow arrow on the frame pointing toward the blower and away from the return air duct.

Technical Specifications

Filter Type: MERV 13 Plus Carbon

MERV Rating: 13

Nominal Size: 17 x 21 x 1 inches

Actual Size: 17 x 21 x 0.75 inches

Quantity Per Box: 6

Weight: 5 pounds

Country of Origin: USA

Standard Information

Brand: NORDIC PURE

Manufacturer Part Number: 17x21x1ExactCustomM13+C-6

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0270/4519/9983/files/0b4260f71d995777c5733963f396df69_346dd8f1-42b2-441b-beb7-0730475ea66f.jpg?v=1789993554
