The filter is built from electrostatically charged synthetic media that attracts and holds airborne particulates on each pass. The carbon layer addresses odors in addition to standard particulate capture. At a nominal size of 16x21x1 inches, the actual dimensions are 15.5 x 20.5 x 0.75 inches. This is a custom-made filter intended for residential or light commercial HVAC systems where a standard size does not fit. Installation is handled by HVAC technicians or experienced DIYers performing routine filter maintenance.

This filter is designed for forced-air heating and cooling systems, including gas furnaces, air handlers, and central AC systems, where the filter slot requires a non-standard 16x21x1 nominal size. The custom construction uses a reinforced 2-part frame, which may incorporate taped seams depending on final dimensions. Because this is a custom-made product, the filter slot should be measured precisely before ordering. The actual filter measures 15.5 x 20.5 x 0.75 inches, so the opening should match within 1/8 inch. This product is non-returnable due to its custom-made nature.

Key Features

MERV 8 rating captures 70-85% of airborne particles between 3-10 microns, including lint, dust, pollen, pet dander, and mold spores

Activated carbon layer helps reduce common household odors beyond standard particulate filtration

Electrostatically charged synthetic media improves particle attraction without significantly restricting airflow

Reinforced 2-part frame provides added structural durability over single-frame designs

Custom-cut to nominal 16x21x1 inches with an actual size of 15.5 x 20.5 x 0.75 inches

Made in the USA

Compatibility

Designed as a custom OEM-style replacement for residential and light commercial forced-air HVAC systems requiring a nominal 16x21x1 filter. Confirm the actual slot opening measures approximately 15.5 x 20.5 x 0.75 inches before ordering. This custom size is not eligible for returns.

Installation Notes

Filter replacement is performed by HVAC technicians or qualified service personnel as part of routine preventive maintenance. Power down or set the thermostat to the off position before removing and replacing the filter to prevent unfiltered air bypass during the swap. Confirm airflow direction arrows on the filter frame align with the direction of airflow in the system before seating the filter. Nordic Pure recommends changing this filter every 30-90 days depending on indoor and outdoor air quality conditions.

Technical Specifications

Filter Type: MERV 8 Plus Carbon

MERV Rating: 8

Nominal Size: 16x21x1 inches

Actual Size: 15.5 x 20.5 x 0.75 inches

Quantity Per Box: 12

Package Weight: 8 pounds

Package Width: 21 inches

Package Height: 26 inches

Package Depth: 11 inches

Country of Origin: USA

Standard Information

Brand: NORDIC PURE

Manufacturer Part Number: 16x21x1CustomM8+C-12

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0270/4519/9983/files/f6b5676b9b5ed649c9599c89af44d63d_cf58dfcd-a139-4ce6-a5aa-19c860ba9105.jpg?v=1789994622
