Machined from 316 stainless steel, this fitting is built for demanding fluid systems where corrosion resistance and high-temperature performance are required. The swivel design on the JIC end allows for easier assembly and line routing without twisting the hose or tube. Rated to 1000 degrees F operating temperature, the SS6809-08-08 suits high-heat hydraulic, pneumatic, and process piping applications where standard carbon steel fittings would fail prematurely.

This adapter is used in industrial, marine, mobile hydraulic, and process fluid systems that require a directional change at a port connection. The MAORB male end threads into an O-ring boss port on pumps, valves, cylinders, and manifolds, providing a leak-resistant seal. The female JIC swivel end accepts standard 37-degree flare JIC tube or hose end fittings. It is suited for both new installations and replacement work in applications exposed to elevated temperatures, aggressive fluids, or corrosive environments such as saltwater or chemical processing.

Key Features

90-degree elbow geometry allows directional routing from an O-ring boss port to a JIC line

316 stainless steel construction provides excellent corrosion resistance in harsh and marine environments

Female JIC swivel end simplifies assembly and reduces torsional stress on connected lines

1000 degrees F operating temperature rating supports high-heat process and hydraulic applications

Thread configuration: 3/4-16 x 3/4-16 on both ends

Compatibility

Designed for use in hydraulic, pneumatic, and process piping systems with O-ring boss ports and standard 37-degree flare JIC connections. Part of the SS6809-NWO Series of MAORB to FJIC Swivel Elbow adapters from MIDLAND INDUSTRIES.

Installation Notes

Installation should be performed by a qualified hydraulic technician or pipefitter. Depressurize and drain the system fully before removing or installing any fittings. Apply appropriate thread sealant or confirm that the O-ring is properly seated on the MAORB end before torquing; do not over-tighten the swivel nut on the JIC end as this can damage the 37-degree seat. Follow applicable system pressure ratings and relevant fluid power standards when selecting and installing hydraulic fittings.

Technical Specifications

Connection Size 1: 1/2 inch

Connection Type 1: Male Adjustable O-Ring Boss (MAORB)

Connection Size 2: 1/2 inch

Connection Type 2: Female JIC Swivel

Thread Configuration: 3/4-16 x 3/4-16

Elbow Angle: 90 degrees

Material: 316 Stainless Steel

Operating Temperature: 1000 degrees F

Series: SS6809-NWO

Standard Information

Brand: MIDLAND INDUSTRIES

Manufacturer Part Number: SS6809-08-08

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0270/4519/9983/files/4c2b8312b72dbd1dc5247c7a2c93c25e_a4c9aa88-44f5-4151-ae8a-0366f88cfe71.jpg?v=1791729344
