It connects a 1-inch Female NPTF port to a 1-inch Female NPSM swivel port, allowing directional adjustment during assembly without disturbing the seal. Constructed from 316 stainless steel, it is rated for a maximum operating pressure of 4400 psig and temperatures up to 1000 degrees F. This fitting is installed by licensed plumbers, pipefitters, and industrial maintenance technicians working on fluid and gas systems where corrosion resistance and pressure integrity are critical.

This swivel elbow is suited for industrial, commercial, and heavy-duty process piping applications where a fixed-angle elbow would create alignment challenges. The NPSM swivel connection allows rotation during makeup, reducing stress on adjacent fittings and mating components. It is appropriate for use in hydraulic, pneumatic, steam, and chemical fluid systems that demand stainless steel construction for corrosion resistance and elevated temperature service.

Key Features

90-degree swivel elbow geometry allows rotational adjustment during installation

316 stainless steel construction for corrosion resistance in aggressive environments

Maximum operating pressure rated at 4400 psig

Rated for operating temperatures up to 1000 degrees F

1-inch Female NPTF x 1-inch Female NPSM swivel connection configuration

Thread pitch of 1-11/2 on both connection ends

Compatibility

Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-install fitting for 1-inch female NPTF and female NPSM swivel pipe systems within the MIDLAND INDUSTRIES SS1502 Series Female Pipe to Female Pipe Swivel Elbow product line.

Installation Notes

Installation should be performed by a qualified pipefitter or licensed plumber in accordance with applicable mechanical codes. Depressurize and isolate the system completely before removing or installing any fittings. Verify that mating thread types and sizes are compatible before makeup to avoid cross-threading or seal failure. Do not overtighten the NPSM swivel connection, as the swivel feature relies on proper rotational freedom to function correctly.

Technical Specifications

Maximum Operating Pressure: 4400 psig

Maximum Operating Temperature: 1000 degrees F

Connection 1 Size: 1 inch

Connection 1 Type: Female NPTF

Connection 2 Size: 1 inch

Connection 2 Type: Female NPSM Swivel

Thread Pitch: 1-11/2 x 1-11/2

Material: 316 Stainless Steel

Series: SS1502

Standard Information

Brand: MIDLAND INDUSTRIES

Manufacturer Part Number: SS1502-16-16

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0270/4519/9983/files/9043a0b89bad168ad07a11a29b656f47_1ead6f7b-450d-4057-980e-7b379924a521.jpg?v=1791703613
