It connects a 1-inch Female NPTF port to a 1-inch Female NPSM swivel port, with a 1-11-1/2 thread form on both ends. Rated to 2000 psi and 375 degrees F, this fitting is built for demanding service conditions where both pressure integrity and rotational adjustment are required during assembly. Plumbers, pipefitters, and mechanical contractors install this adapter where a fixed pipe end must mate to a swiveling female connection without stressing the line.

This adapter suits residential and commercial piping installations where stainless steel construction is required for corrosion resistance. Typical applications include water treatment systems, industrial fluid lines, and mechanical rooms where NPTF-to-NPSM transitions are needed. The swivel function on the NPSM end simplifies installation by allowing the fitting to rotate during tightening, reducing torque transfer into the connected pipe or equipment. It is part of the SS1405 Series, which covers female pipe to female pipe swivel configurations.

Key Features

2000 psi pressure rating for high-pressure piping service

375 degrees F maximum temperature rating

Female NPTF x Female NPSM swivel configuration reduces installation torque transfer

1-11-1/2 thread form on both connection ends

Stainless steel construction for corrosion resistance in demanding environments

Swivel end allows rotational adjustment during assembly without stressing the line

Compatibility

Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit adapter for 1-inch female NPTF and female NPSM piping systems requiring a stainless steel swivel transition fitting.

Installation Notes

Installation is typically performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable plumbing codes such as the IPC or IFGC. Depressurize and isolate the line completely before removing or installing any pipe fitting. Apply thread sealant compatible with stainless steel and the conveyed media to the NPTF threads before assembly. Do not over-torque the swivel end, as this can damage the NPSM seat and compromise the seal.

Technical Specifications

Connection Size 1: 1 inch

Connection Type 1: Female NPTF

Connection Size 2: 1 inch

Connection Type 2: Female NPSM Swivel

Thread Form: 1-11-1/2

Pressure Rating: 2000 psi

Maximum Temperature: 375 degrees F

Material: Stainless Steel

Weight: 0.59 pounds

Standard Information

Brand: MIDLAND INDUSTRIES

Manufacturer Part Number: SS1405-16-16

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0270/4519/9983/files/9e9eed92a155cb9840e6d505f20de889_9586629c-af2e-4693-b64f-da135eb7f56e.jpg?v=1791741251
