It measures 2.5 inches in length with a 0.375-inch diameter and features 3/8-18 male pipe thread (MPT) on both ends. The lead-free brass construction meets safe drinking water requirements, making this fitting suitable for potable water applications. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this type of nipple to extend or connect threaded pipe runs where a standard close or hex nipple does not provide sufficient thread engagement or clearance.

This long nipple is used in residential and light commercial plumbing systems where 3/8-inch MPT threaded connections are required. It is compatible with both brass and steel pipe, making it a practical choice for water supply lines, gas distribution systems, and general fluid conveyance piping. Its lead-free designation makes it appropriate for jurisdictions enforcing low-lead content standards in potable water systems.

Key Features

Lead-free brass construction meets low-lead requirements for potable water systems

3/8 in MPT x 3/8 in MPT threading on both ends for standard threaded pipe connections

2.5-inch body length provides clearance where shorter nipples are not sufficient

3/8-18 thread form for consistent, leak-resistant engagement

Compatible with both brass and steel pipe systems

Compatibility

Designed for use with brass or steel pipe in 3/8-inch threaded piping systems. Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before disassembling any threaded connections. Apply appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads before assembly. Do not overtighten, as excessive torque can crack brass fittings or damage mating threads.

Technical Specifications

Connection Size 1: 3/8 inches MPT

Connection Size 2: 3/8 inches MPT

Connection Type: MPT x MPT

Length: 2.5 inches

Diameter: 3/8 inches

Thread: 3/8-18

Material: Lead-Free Brass

Compatible Pipe Types: Brass or Steel Pipe

Standard Information

Brand: MIDLAND INDUSTRIES

Manufacturer Part Number: LF113-640

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0270/4519/9983/files/6d74f6af7349d1727fe07c8bbb45222b_7d606111-b99d-4913-a6f1-098b3c7e979e.jpg?v=1791713518
