It joins a 1/4-inch push-to-connect tube to a 3/8-inch female NPT port in a right-angle configuration. The composite body keeps weight low while meeting D.O.T. requirements. Rated to 145 psi and a temperature range of -40 to 140 degrees F, it handles the pressure and environmental demands of mobile and stationary compressed air systems. A positional swivel feature allows the NPT end to be oriented before final tightening, simplifying installation in tight or awkward spaces.

This fitting is used in air brake lines, pneumatic control circuits, and compressed air distribution systems on commercial trucks, trailers, and related equipment. It is also suited for industrial air supply lines where D.O.T.-compliant push-to-connect fittings are required. The push-to-connect end accepts 1/4-inch OD tubing for fast, tool-free tube insertion, while the 3/8-18 NPT female thread connects to standard ported components such as valves, manifolds, and reservoir fittings.

Key Features

D.O.T.-rated composite body construction for compliant air brake and pneumatic air line use

1/4-inch push-to-connect inlet for fast, reliable tube insertion without additional tools

3/8-18 female NPT thread outlet with positional swivel for flexible port alignment

145 psi maximum working pressure

Operating temperature range of -40 to 140 degrees F

Compact profile: 1.3 inches height, 1.25 inches length, 0.85 inches width

Compatibility

Designed as a D.O.T.-compliant push-to-connect replacement or new-installation fitting for pneumatic systems requiring a 1/4-inch OD tube to 3/8-inch female NPT 90-degree elbow connection.

Installation Notes

Installation is typically performed by fleet maintenance technicians or plumbing and pneumatic system installers familiar with D.O.T. air line requirements. Depressurize the air system completely before removing or installing any fittings. The NPT thread end should be sealed with appropriate thread sealant or tape per manufacturer and system requirements; hand-tighten then wrench-tighten to avoid over-torquing composite threads. Insert tubing fully into the push-to-connect end until seated, and confirm retention before returning the system to pressure.

Technical Specifications

Connection Size 1: 1/4 inch

Connection Type 1: Push-to-Connect

Connection Size 2: 3/8 inch

Connection Type 2: Female NPT

Thread: 3/8-18 NPT

Maximum Working Pressure: 145 psi

Temperature Range: -40 to 140 degrees F

Body Material: Composite

Configuration: 90-Degree Elbow with Positional Swivel

Height: 1.3 inches

Length: 1.25 inches

Width: 0.85 inches

Weight: 0.08 pounds

Standard Information

Brand: MIDLAND INDUSTRIES

Manufacturer Part Number: 700406SC
