Cam and groove fittings - also called camlock fittings - allow fast, tool-free connection and disconnection of fluid transfer lines in industrial, agricultural, and commercial service applications. The aluminum construction keeps weight low at 1.579 pounds while resisting corrosion in a wide range of fluid handling environments. This fitting is installed by plumbers, pipefitters, and fluid handling technicians working on bulk transfer, tank truck, pump discharge, and chemical handling systems.

The 61937 is suited for applications where a 3-inch hose barb on one side needs to mate with a standard camlock female coupling on the other. Common installation scenarios include pump outlet connections, tank fill and discharge lines, irrigation manifolds, and portable fluid transfer equipment. The Type C designation means the male groove adapter mates with a standard Type C or DC female camlock coupler. Both connection ends measure 3 inches, keeping the flow path consistent through the fitting without restriction.

Key Features

3-inch Type C male groove adapter for fast cam and groove connection and disconnection

3-inch hose barb on the opposite end for secure hose attachment without threaded fittings

Aluminum body resists corrosion and reduces overall assembly weight

Lightweight at 1.579 pounds for ease of handling in portable transfer setups

Conforms to standard cam and groove coupling dimensions for broad interchangeability

Compatibility

Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation component for standard 3-inch cam and groove fluid transfer systems using Type C male adapters and hose barb terminations.

Installation Notes

Installation is performed by plumbers, pipefitters, or fluid handling technicians. Before connecting or disconnecting camlock fittings, relieve line pressure completely and shut off the fluid source. Secure the hose barb end with an appropriate hose clamp rated for the service pressure and fluid type. Inspect cam arms and groove seating surfaces for wear or damage before placing the fitting into service.

Technical Specifications

Connection Size 1: 3 inches

Connection Type 1: Type C (Male Cam and Groove Adapter)

Connection Size 2: 3 inches

Connection Type 2: Hose Barbed

Material: Aluminum

Weight: 1.579 pounds

Standard Information

Brand: MIDLAND INDUSTRIES

Manufacturer Part Number: 61937
