It features a 2-1/2 inch Male NPT end on one side and a 2-1/2 inch Male NST end on the other, allowing a threaded NPT port to connect directly to a National Standard Thread hose coupling. Constructed from brass, this fitting delivers corrosion resistance and reliable sealing performance in fire suppression and water supply applications. The hex body provides wrench flats for secure installation and removal. Weighing 1.665 pounds, it is a solid, full-metal construction fitting suited for field and permanent installations alike.

This fitting is used in fire hose systems where a transition between NPT-threaded pipe or valve outlets and NST fire hose couplings is required. Typical applications include connecting fire department supply lines, standpipe systems, and fire suppression equipment. It is installed by fire protection contractors, plumbers, and fire equipment service technicians in both commercial and municipal settings.

Key Features

Double male configuration allows direct NPT-to-NST connection without additional adapters

2-1/2 inch Male NPT on one end for standard pipe thread connections

2-1/2 inch Male NST on the other end for National Standard Thread fire hose couplings

Brass construction provides corrosion resistance and long service life

Hex body design allows full wrench engagement for leak-free makeup

Compatibility

Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for fire hose systems requiring a 2-1/2 inch NPT to 2-1/2 inch NST male-to-male transition.

Installation Notes

Installation should be performed by a licensed fire protection contractor or plumber in accordance with applicable NFPA standards and local codes. Shut off water supply and depressurize the line before making or breaking any connection. Use a pipe wrench on the hex flats only - do not grip the threaded ends with pliers or a chain wrench. Apply thread sealant or PTFE tape to NPT threads only; NST threads rely on a gasket seal at the coupling face.

Technical Specifications

Connection Size 1: 2-1/2 inches

Connection Type 1: Male NPT

Connection Size 2: 2-1/2 inches

Connection Type 2: Male NST

Material: Brass

Height: 3.2 inches

Length: 2.5 inches

Width: 3.55 inches

Weight: 1.665 pounds

Standard Information

Brand: MIDLAND INDUSTRIES

Manufacturer Part Number: 444045

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0270/4519/9983/files/379087668f3d2b068e4e7da5ebd0ab53_37b50957-09b8-4cff-83ea-88cc76a66dc5.jpg?v=1791731795
