It bridges flexible hose assemblies to threaded ports in fluid or gas plumbing systems where a rotating connection is needed to prevent hose twist during installation. The adapter uses a 1/4-18 thread and features a 0.62-inch hex for wrench engagement. It is rated to 150 psi maximum operating pressure and handles temperatures from -40 to 160 degrees F. Plumbers, HVAC technicians, and mechanical contractors install this type of fitting in low-pressure fluid handling, water, and pneumatic line applications.

This adapter is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing, HVAC auxiliary piping, and equipment hook-up lines where flexible hose terminates at a threaded port. The swivel design allows the hose to be positioned without imparting torque to the connection. It is intended for use with a hose clamp, similar type clamp, or a crimped ferrule to secure the hose barb end. The brass construction makes it compatible with water, air, and many common non-corrosive fluids found in trade plumbing and mechanical systems.

Key Features

1/4-inch hose barb inlet connects to standard flexible hose secured with a clamp or crimped ferrule

1/4-inch female NPSM swivel outlet allows rotational adjustment to eliminate hose twist

1/4-18 thread size for consistent thread engagement at the swivel end

Rated to 150 psi maximum operating pressure

Operating temperature range of -40 to 160 degrees F

Brass construction provides corrosion resistance in water and air service

Compatibility

Designed for use with flexible hose assemblies secured by a hose clamp, similar type clamp, or a crimped ferrule. Suitable for low-pressure fluid and pneumatic plumbing applications requiring a 1/4-inch hose barb to 1/4-inch female NPSM swivel transition.

Installation Notes

Installation is typically performed by a licensed plumber or HVAC mechanical technician. Shut off the fluid or air supply and depressurize the line before making or breaking any connection. Use an appropriately sized wrench on the 0.62-inch hex flats to tighten the swivel end; do not over-tighten brass fittings, as the material is softer than steel. Secure the hose barb end with a properly rated clamp or crimped ferrule per the hose manufacturer's recommendation and applicable IPC or mechanical code requirements.

Technical Specifications

Connection Size 1: 1/4 inch

Connection Type 1: Hose Barb

Connection Size 2: 1/4 inch

Connection Type 2: Female NPSM Swivel

Thread Size: 1/4-18

Hex Size: 0.62 inches

Maximum Operating Pressure: 150 psi

Operating Temperature Range: -40 to 160 degrees F

Length: 2.15 inches

Height: 0.65 inches

Width: 0.65 inches

Weight: 0.08 pounds

Material: Brass

Standard Information

Brand: MIDLAND INDUSTRIES

Manufacturer Part Number: 32470

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0270/4519/9983/files/67a66c0a72ab2d12ff0a9971e628bf6b_08c5b840-d06e-48e1-965b-cff250436870.jpg?v=1791714183
