It acts as a heat shield between the vent cap and the wall surface, preventing heat damage to vinyl siding and similar materials. The standoff is sized to work with the Square Horizontal Cap configuration on 4 by 6-5/8 inch direct vent pipe systems. Licensed HVAC technicians install this component as part of a compliant horizontal termination assembly on gas appliances such as boilers, furnaces, and water heaters.

This standoff is intended for horizontal direct vent terminations only. It is particularly suited for installations on vinyl siding and other heat-sensitive cladding, as well as irregular surfaced siding such as ship lap. It provides the required standoff distance between the termination cap and the wall surface, reducing the risk of siding distortion or discoloration caused by exhaust heat. It is not approved for vertical termination applications.

Key Features

Acts as a heat shield to protect vinyl siding and temperature-sensitive wall materials

Sized for use with Square Horizontal Cap on 4 by 6-5/8 inch direct vent pipe

Compatible with irregular surfaced siding including ship lap profiles

Aluminum construction for durability and heat resistance

Approved for horizontal terminations only

Compatibility

Designed for use with 4 by 6-5/8 inch direct vent pipe systems using a Square Horizontal Cap termination.
