Each shim measures 3 inches long by 3 inches wide and 0.031 inches thick, with a 7/8 inch wide slot that allows installation around shafts, fasteners, or studs without full disassembly. Constructed from 302/304 stainless steel, these shims resist corrosion and hold up in wet, chemical, or outdoor environments. Each package contains 20 pieces. Machinists, millwrights, pipefitters, and maintenance technicians reach for slotted shim stock when alignment must be dialed in quickly without pulling equipment completely apart.

These shims are suited for industrial maintenance, mechanical alignment tasks, and equipment leveling in commercial and light industrial settings. Typical applications include pump and motor alignment, pipe support shimming, flange spacing, and general precision fitting work. The slotted design makes them especially practical where bolted connections need shimming after initial assembly. The stainless steel material makes them a reliable choice for environments where plain steel would corrode or where cleanliness standards matter.

Key Features

0.031 inch thickness for precise gap-filling and tolerance adjustment

3 inch x 3 inch footprint offers usable surface area for most standard alignment tasks

7/8 inch wide slot allows installation around fasteners and shafts without full disassembly

302/304 stainless steel construction resists corrosion in wet or chemically active environments

20-piece pack supports repeat use across multiple service calls or assembly points

Compatibility

Designed as an OEM-style slotted shim for general mechanical alignment and gap-setting applications where a 0.031 inch thick, 3 inch x 3 inch stainless steel shim with a 7/8 inch slot is required.

Installation Notes

Slotted shim stock is typically installed by millwrights, pipefitters, or maintenance technicians as part of alignment or leveling procedures. Always de-energize and lock out equipment before inserting or adjusting shims in a running mechanical assembly. Slide the slot over the fastener or shaft, position the shim, then bring fasteners to the appropriate torque per the equipment manufacturer's specifications. Verify alignment with a dial indicator or laser alignment tool after shimming is complete.

Technical Specifications

Thickness: 0.031 inches

Length: 3 inches

Width: 3 inches

Slot Width: 7/8 inch

Material: 302/304 Stainless Steel

Product Type: Slotted

Number of Pieces: 20

Weight: 1.5 pounds

Standard Information

Brand: MAUDLIN PRODUCTS

Manufacturer Part Number: MSB031-20

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0270/4519/9983/files/9117bc60f27d42ba834eb25d1f0883c3_de523189-41ea-4a3e-a66c-03efa5826f8a.jpg?v=1791193648
