It uses a bimetal sensing element that functions identically to a standard room thermostat, cycling the heating system on and off to hold the set temperature without any additional programming or adjustment. This unit is mercury-free, making it safe for jobsite disposal. It is installed by HVAC technicians or general contractors during the construction phase of residential or light commercial projects to prevent fuel waste caused by workers overriding permanent thermostat settings.

The TS-65 is suited for temporary heating control on active construction sites where a permanent thermostat has not yet been installed or where fuel cost control is a priority. It connects directly to the heating system using only two wires at the R and W terminals, making it compatible with standard low-voltage heating circuits. Its rugged design resists common jobsite conditions including heat, moisture, paint overspray, and drywall dust without loss of function.

Key Features

Fixed 65 degrees F setpoint eliminates unauthorized temperature adjustments on the jobsite

Two-wire connection to R and W terminals - no additional wiring or control board changes required

Bimetal sensing element provides reliable, drift-resistant temperature control

Mercury-free construction safe for jobsite use and disposal

Resistant to heat, moisture, paint, and drywall dust

Low-cost alternative to conventional thermostats for temporary heating applications

Compatibility

Designed as a temporary replacement or stand-in thermostat for standard low-voltage, heating-only HVAC systems requiring a two-wire R and W connection.

Installation Notes

Installation is performed by a licensed HVAC technician or qualified contractor. Power down the HVAC system at the disconnect or breaker before making any wiring connections. The TS-65 requires only two low-voltage wires connected to the R and W terminals using wire nuts - no additional terminals or wiring configurations are needed. Remove and replace with the permanent thermostat before final inspection, as this unit is intended for temporary use only.

Technical Specifications

Temperature Setpoint: 65 degrees F

Application: Heating Only

Sensing Element: Bimetal

Wiring: 2-wire (R and W terminals)

Mercury Content: Mercury-free

Use Type: Temporary construction

Standard Information

Brand: JAKSON SYSTEMS

Manufacturer Part Number: TS-65
