A grounded shield between the primary and secondary windings isolates the two circuits, ensuring safe low-voltage output to underwater luminaires. Built-in circuit protection automatically disconnects power under overload conditions, protecting both the transformer and connected fixtures. The unit is housed in a NEMA 3R beige metal enclosure and is built for permanent outdoor installation by licensed electricians and pool service professionals.

The PX600 is suited for residential and light commercial pool and spa lighting systems where NEC Code 680.23 compliance is required for underwater luminaires. The three selectable output voltages - 12, 13, and 14 volts - allow the installer to compensate for voltage drop over longer wire runs, making it practical across a range of installation distances and fixture loads. The enclosure includes 12 combination knockouts: two on the right side, two on the left side, two on the back, and six on the bottom, giving significant flexibility for conduit routing.

Key Features

600-watt capacity supports pool, spa, submersible, and outdoor garden lighting loads

Selectable output voltage: 12, 13, or 14 volts AC to offset voltage drop on longer runs

Grounded shield between primary and secondary windings for electrical isolation and safe operation

Built-in circuit protection disconnects power automatically on overload

NEMA 3R beige metal enclosure rated for outdoor use

12 combination knockouts for flexible conduit entry routing

Complies with NEC Code 680.23 requirements for underwater luminaires

Compatibility

Designed to supply 12 to 14 volts AC to pool and spa lights, submersible fixtures, and outdoor garden lights in systems requiring NEC Code 680.23-compliant isolation transformers.

Installation Notes

Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with NEC Article 680 and all applicable local codes. Shut off all power at the breaker panel before making any wiring connections. The transformer must be mounted in a protected, weatherproof location per NEMA 3R enclosure ratings. Verify total fixture wattage does not exceed the 600-watt rating before energizing the circuit.

Technical Specifications

Output Power: 600 watts

Output Voltage: 12, 13, or 14 volts AC (selectable)

Enclosure Type: NEMA 3R metal, beige

Knockouts: 12 combination knockouts (2 right, 2 left, 2 back, 6 bottom)

Dimensions (D x W x H): 5.39 inches x 10 inches x 10 inches

Code Compliance: NEC Code 680.23

Warranty: 1 year

Standard Information

Brand: INTERMATIC

Manufacturer Part Number: PX600
