The stranded conductor construction provides flexibility during pulls through conduit or along building exteriors, and the black jacket is suitable for outdoor and direct-exposure installations. This cable is sold by the 1,000-foot reel, making it a practical choice for larger fire alarm wiring projects. Licensed fire alarm technicians and low-voltage electricians install this cable as part of initiating device circuits, notification appliance circuits, and control panel wiring in commercial and residential fire protection systems.

This cable is designed for outdoor fire alarm applications where an unshielded, stranded conductor is required. It is well suited for runs between exterior-mounted pull stations, horn-strobes, and other field devices connected back to a fire alarm control panel. The 6-conductor configuration supports multi-zone or multi-function circuits in a single cable run, reducing conduit fill and simplifying routing in new construction and retrofit projects.

Key Features

18 AWG stranded conductors for flexibility during installation pulls

6-conductor configuration supports multi-zone or multi-function wiring in one run

Rated for outdoor fire alarm signaling applications

Unshielded construction per fire alarm cable category

Black jacket for outdoor exposure identification and UV resistance

1,000-foot reel quantity reduces mid-run splices on longer jobs

Compatibility

Designed as an OEM-style replacement and general-use fire alarm cable for outdoor unshielded fire alarm signaling circuits in commercial and residential fire protection systems.

Installation Notes

Installation should be performed by a licensed fire alarm technician or low-voltage electrician in accordance with NFPA 72 and applicable local codes. De-energize the fire alarm control panel and follow the panel manufacturer lockout procedures before making any wiring connections. Verify conduit fill calculations and outdoor cable routing comply with NEC Article 760 requirements. Do not exceed the minimum bend radius of the cable during routing to avoid conductor damage.

Technical Specifications

Conductor Size: 18 AWG

Number of Conductors: 6

Conductor Type: Stranded

Shield Type: Unshielded

Jacket Color: Black

Cable Rating: Outdoor Fire Alarm

Reel Length: 1000 feet

Unit of Measure: Each (1 reel)

Standard Information

Brand: GENESIS CABLE

Manufacturer Part Number: 41581008
