Built with a brass body and a 3/8-inch NPTF threaded connection, this valve handles pressures up to 150 psi. The NPTF thread form creates a pressure-tight seal without requiring additional sealant tape in many installations, though standard practice calls for thread sealant per job requirements. At 0.3125 pounds, it is a compact, lightweight valve suited for tight spaces and service work requiring quick drain-and-shutoff capability. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the typical installers of this type of valve.

This drain cock shutoff valve is used in residential and light commercial plumbing systems where a dedicated drain point or flow-shutoff is needed. Common installation locations include boiler drain ports, water heater drain lines, irrigation supply lines, and branch shutoffs on supply piping. The valve is rated for 150 psi, making it appropriate for standard domestic water pressure service. It is sold individually and is a direct stock item for plumbing contractors needing a reliable drain cock for service calls or new construction roughin.

Key Features

Brass body construction for corrosion resistance in plumbing service

3/8-inch NPTF connection for pressure-tight thread engagement

150 psi maximum pressure rating suitable for domestic water service

Flow adjustment valve function doubles as a drain cock and shutoff

Compact and lightweight at 0.3125 pounds for use in confined spaces

Compatibility

Designed as an OEM-style replacement or service valve for residential and light commercial plumbing systems using 3/8-inch NPTF threaded connections rated up to 150 psi.

Installation Notes

This valve should be installed by a licensed plumber in accordance with the International Plumbing Code and local jurisdiction requirements.
