Designed for extra-large shower enclosures and outdoor shower applications, this drain allows for a single-direction floor slope, simplifying waterproofing and tile layout. The groove-hole cover pattern provides a clean, modern aesthetic suited to contemporary tile and stone installations. At 8.40 pounds, the unit is substantial enough for permanent installation while remaining manageable for one-person handling during rough-in. Plumbers and tile setters working on high-end residential or light commercial wet areas will find this drain appropriate for their applications.

This drain is suited to residential and light commercial shower installations where a traditional center drain layout is not practical or desired. Extra-large showers, barrier-free or ADA-style walk-in designs, and outdoor shower decks are common applications. The 47.24-inch length accommodates full-width wall-to-wall placements in many standard and oversized shower configurations. A removable basket strainer inside the drain body captures hair and debris before it enters the drain line, reducing maintenance frequency. Note that the shower drain base is not included but is required; compatible bases are available as model ABDB55 in PVC or ABDB55CI in cast iron.

Key Features

18-gauge grade 304 stainless steel construction resists corrosion, temperature variation, and common household cleaners

47.24-inch length supports single-direction floor slope layouts in extra-large or outdoor shower installations

Groove-hole cover pattern provides a modern, linear aesthetic compatible with large-format tile and stone

Removable basket strainer captures hair and debris for easy periodic cleaning without tools

2-inch slip-in drain outlet connects to standard PVC drain piping

Drain base sold separately; compatible with ABDB55 (PVC) and ABDB55CI (cast iron) bases

Compatibility

Requires a separate shower drain base; compatible bases are model ABDB55 in PVC and model ABDB55CI in cast iron. Shut off the water supply and confirm the subfloor is adequately supported before setting the drain base. The drain base must be installed and set in mortar or concrete prior to securing the linear drain body. Do not overtighten fasteners against the tile surface, as the stainless steel flange can deform under excessive clamping force.

Technical Specifications

Length: 47.24 inches

Width: 2.99 inches

Height/Depth: 3.15 inches

Weight: 8.40 pounds

Material: 304 Stainless Steel, 18 Gauge

Drain Outlet: 2-inch slip-in

Cover Pattern: Groove Holes

Standard Information

Brand: ALFI

Manufacturer Part Number: ABLD47C-BSS
