Built on a polypropylene backing at 4 mil thick, it delivers a tensile strength of 100 pounds per inch, making it well-suited for securing heavy loads and keeping bundled materials tight during handling and transit. Each roll measures 1 inch wide by 60 yards long. The filament reinforcement adds resistance to tearing under tension. HVAC, plumbing, and electrical supply houses commonly stock this tape for field techs who need a reliable strapping solution on the job.

This tape is used in light industrial and trade service settings where quick, strong bundling or reinforcing is needed. Common applications include strapping conduit, bundling pipe or tubing, securing coiled wire, and reinforcing box seams for heavy components. The clear film keeps labels and markings visible through the tape. At 1 inch wide, it fits standard tape dispensers and works well for close-quarters wrapping tasks typical in mechanical rooms and field service vans.

Key Features

Filament-reinforced polypropylene backing resists tearing under load

Rubber adhesive provides strong, immediate tack on most surfaces

4 mil thickness balances flexibility with puncture resistance

100 lb per inch tensile strength rated for heavy bundling and strapping

Clear film keeps underlying labels and markings visible

1 inch wide by 60 yards per roll for extended use from a single roll

Compatibility

Designed as an OEM-specification replacement or direct-use tape for standard 1-inch tape dispensers; fits the 3M Series 8934 product family as part number 8934.

Installation Notes

Apply to clean, dry surfaces free of dust, oil, or moisture for best adhesion. Use a tape dispenser with a 1-inch core guide to maintain consistent tension and straight application. When used for strapping or load securing, confirm that the tensile rating is appropriate for the load weight before relying on the tape alone. Avoid contact with solvents or prolonged UV exposure, which can degrade rubber adhesive performance over time.

Technical Specifications

Series: 8934

Tape Type: Packaging / Filament

Tape Material: Polypropylene

Adhesive Material: Rubber

Reinforcement Type: Filament

Color: Clear

Width: 1 inch (24.00 mm)

Length: 60 yards per roll

Thickness: 4 mil

Tensile Strength: 100 lb per inch

Application: Bundling, Reinforcing, Strapping

Weight: 0.08 pounds

UNSPSC Code: 31201517

Standard Information

Brand: 3M

Manufacturer Part Number: 7000028887
